According to Esser, Hussein’s bunker could have “survive [d] anything short of a direct hit from a Hiroshima-style nuclear weapon.”Saddam’s installation bunker was designed to support the leader and his staff for up to 30 days in the event of a conventional attack, and five days in a nuclear attack.
