I saved myself from multiple diseases due to obesity.

I lost 40kgs.

I’ve gifted myself probably 10 more years of life. 3 years ago, I had multiple health problems due to my weight. From hormonal problems to blood pressure problems, from self confidence problems to believing in the body positive sham problem.

I had two kinds of people in my life. Both of them cared about me. One told me to stop eating unhealthy stuff and join the gym, the second told me to love my body the way it is.

Being body positive means to love your body and respect it. Treat it like a temple. Don’t put all that junk in your tummy, get obese and tell yourself that you’re being body positive. Let’s just put it this way, it’s convenient to just accept, not do anything about it and call it being body positive.

It was easy for me to listen to the second (kind of people) and give up on myself, but something in me knew it was wrong and I’d be a hypocrite to say smoking is wrong because it kills, but being obese and eating junk is okay because it’s being body positive.

I started with setting a target.

I went to the mall the same day and got myself a dress 3 sizes smaller. My target was to fit in the dress.

Then, I threw away all the junk food I had. From cheese to Nutella. (Yes, Nutella too)

I stocked up on green tea.

I simply followed very basic steps to weight loss.

1. No sugar or rice

2. Meals on same time everyday

3. Eat half of the meal that I think would make me full.

4. Dinner 5 hours before going to bed.

5. Green tea 3-4 times a day

6. Workout 1.30 hours everyday.

7. Cheat meals every Sunday

8. Calorie intake < workout calorie burn

After one year I had incredible results just by following a routine and bringing discipline in my lifestyle, I’ve lost 40 kgs since then and I was able to fit in the dress I got on the day I started.

Please do not misunderstand body positive for eating all you want, getting fat and killing yourself with heart diseases.
