A pomegranate can hold up to 1,400 seeds.

Studies have shown that a pomegranate typically contains between 600 to 1400 seeds. The size and amount of seeds can depend on the variety, where it has grown and its maturity. For example, some larger pomegranates can contain as many as 2000 seeds while smaller ones can contain around 500-600 seeds.

Pomegranates are a unique fruit. Packed into a single globe are hundreds of tiny gem-like seeds, properly called arils (which are the actual seed plus the bubble of tart juice surrounding it). The seeds are cushioned by thick, spongy pith and then separated into distinct chambers by thin, waxy membranes.
